Pete Martinez was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. His love of music began at the age of four when his father first put a guitar in his hands. Pete’s large family loved the music of Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Marty Robbins, and rest of Country Music’s great traditional artists. His happiest childhood memories are playing and singing Country Classics with his family and friends in frequent living-room music sessions. In high school Pete started a band and continued to perform through his college years. His career as a bull-rider in rodeo gave Pete a deeper appreciation of the values and traditions of the western community enabling him to share his music with an ever- broadening fan base. This loyal grass-roots following formed the foundation for his career in country music.

Denver was Pete’s destination after college graduation (B.S. Mechanical Engineering) and he became the house performer at the Denver Buffalo Company in 1991. He left the DBC to start the band, Way Out West, which became one of the premiere Country bands in the Colorado’s Front Range and the Rocky Mountain region. With Pete as the lead singer and band leader, Way Out West set several attendance records in the 1990’s and created a following for Pete’s music throughout Wyoming, Colorado, the Rocky Mountains, and several international communities.

In 1998 Pete was invited to record in Nashville, Tennessee resulting in the release of his first album, Changes. The record was released off an independent label in 2002 and has been very well received all over the United States and beyond. The album was recently featured in COWBOYS & INDIANS Magazine, the nation’s leading Western publication, with a very strong review, and has continued to receive acclaim from the industry and the public. Pete performs in concert with a full band, and as a solo act when requested for special events throughout the U.S. Recently, Pete’s shared billing in concert with fellow Wyomingite, Chris Ledoux. He’s also shared the stage with notables such as Montgomery Gentry, Blake Shelton, Mark Chesnut, Ricochet, Red Steagal, and Baxter Black.

Pete’s vocal ability and stage presence garnered an invitation for him to perform for President Bush and Vice President Cheney during the Wyoming Inaugural party in Washington, D.C. on January 19th 2005.

Recently Pete performed in Las Vegas for the world finals of both the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and the PBR (Pro Bull Riders) as officially requested by both organizations.

Pete Martinez is proud to support many national non-profit organizations, donating performances to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Special Olympics, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Share Our Strength, 911 families, firefighters and police, and many others.

Demand for Pete Martinez’ music continues to grow, attracting a team of professionals in the Country Music industry committed to bringing Pete’s music to a broader marketplace. He recently recorded a new album in Nashville, titled I WOULD FOR YOU, which is soon to be released. The first single off the album, I Hear You Knockin’, became a hit in the dance world when a team of its most renowned instructors (Jo Thompson, Barry & Darry Ann Amato, and John Robinson) choreographed a line dance to the song. The dance and the single debuted together in January 2004 at the World Dance Championships held in Nashville, TN.
